Using Aquarius Radiometer and Scatterometer for Generating New Soil Moisture Products (Active, Passive, Active-Passive)
[13-Nov-2014] Bruscantini, C.
Presented at the 2014 Aquarius/SAC-D Science Team Meeting
More than 3 years have passed since Aquarius/SAC-D mission was launched. On December 2013, Aquarius official soil moisture maps were released worldwide - provided by the NASA NSIDC webpage. Although Aquarius soil moisture monitoring may be somehow unattractive for final-user applications, its co-located radar and radiometer instruments give a unique activity for space-born active/passive fusion retrieval development, of special interest for the forthcoming SMAP mission.
