The Remote Sensing Systems SMAP Version 5 (V5) Level 2C science-grade processing algorithm for SSS retrievals is now available to the public via the following link: https://github.com/Remote-Sensing-Systems/RSS-SMAP-V5.0-L2C-Science-Grade/.

The science-grade processing algorithm is meant to be a user-friendly simplification of the full RSS SMAP V5 L2C processing code. It comprises the actual salinity retrieval algorithm and the forward radiative transfer model.

The GitHub release contains detailed user instructions together with several test input and output files in ASCII format for easy reading and access. It is designed to compile and run with standard gfortran. For more information on the code along with how to appropriately run it, please see the documentation in the GitHub repository listed above.
